Hot Water from Air Conditioners
In hot climates a proven strategy that works well is a heat recovery unit attached to your AC unit. It provides free hot water and increases the efficiency of the AC by reducing head pressure (and electricity draw) on the compressor. You're paying for your AC to move a great deal of heat out of your house this is the heat that is currently blown into the atmosphere by the AC system's condensing unit you might as well use that heat to provide you with hot water. Adding one of these to an AC unit is a good way to lower your monthly power bill.
The great thing about the solution is that it's costnegative. In addition to being free hot water as opposed to other "high efficiency" heaters that still consume energy, it actually lowers your cost of air conditioning!
You pay the electric company to run your AC to remove the heat from your house and send it outdoors.
At the same time, you are paying the electric company to make hot water for your shower, laundry and dishwasher.
Heat Recovery Units takes heat and turns it into hot water. The air conditioner or heat pump works hard on hot days. It removes the heat from inside your home and sends it to the outside. At the same time the water heater in your house is working hard to heat the water for the shower, laundry, and dishwasher.
Enviro-Pak can also be installed when the AC is serviced for a change out. Enviro-Pak can cut water heating costs by up to 50%. Also, because the AC compressor doesn't have to work as hard,
the AC system draws less power, and the work load is reduced. Your AC runs more efficiently and can save you up to 15% on cooling costs.
